What is Gateway Services CDD?
Gateway
Services is a Community Development District (CDD) which is
a governmental unit created to serve the long-term specific
needs of its community. Created pursuant to chapter 190 of the
Florida Statutes, a CDD’s main powers are to plan, finance,
construct, operate and maintain community-wide infrastructure
and services specifically for the benefit of its residents.
In the GSCDD some of our responsibilities include storm water
management, potable and irrigation water supply, sewer and wastewater
management, and street lights. We also oversee and maintain
some of the recreational areas such as the pool, soccer fields
and common areas.
Who
Governs Gateway Services CDD?
A CDD is governed by its Board of Supervisors. Like
all municipal, county, state, and national elections, the Office
of the Supervisor of Elections oversees the vote, and CDD Supervisors
are subject to state ethics and financial disclosure laws. You
can click on "Supervisors"
to learn more and meet our Board.
Who
Operates the Day-to-Day Operations of the District?
Gateway
Services District is managed by a team who specializes in Customer
Care, Operations, Project Management, utilities and maintenance.
They keep the water flowing, maintain the recreation areas,
keep the pool safe and clean and take care of all of the Districts
needs. If you think about our District being similar to that
of small city or county, this will give you an idea of the management
responsibilities of our team. You can click on "Meet
Our Team" on the menu to learn more and see who's on
the team.
What
are the Benefits of a CDD?
There are several benefits, one is the CDD complements
the responsibilities of community homeowner's associations (HOAs).
Another benefit is the CDD provides landowners consistently
high levels of public facilities and services managed and financed
through self-imposed fees and assessments. The CDD also ensures
that these community development facilities and services will
be completed concurrently with other parts of the development.
